Komodo dragons eat almost any kind of meat, scavenging for carcasses or stalking animals that range in size from small rodents to large water buffalo. Young feed primarily on small lizards and insects, as well as snakes and birds. Komodo’s will stalk their prey for hours, then when they get the chance they will lunge themselves forward to inject their venom into the animal. Next the will stand and wait till the animal they attacked to fall, this way they get to eat without all the work.
